Kartez Cook may not be your typical owner operator. His 2000 International  is kept in excellent conditon. His fuel and maintenance records are an accountants dream.  Everything in it's place.

The Oil Medic's ran an oil and transmisson analysis on Kartez's truck.  For the age and number of miles, the truck was in excellent condition.

We found a large amount of fuel in his oil (typical of trucks that idle) and his transmission showed some oxidation (typical of transmission oil not changed over a long period of time.)  Other than that the Series 60 Detroit showed no signs of any type of problem.

What did we do to his truck?

Installed  : PTF24 puraDYN unit. 

Changed his engine oil to :         Schaeffer  #700 Supreme 7000 15w40 Synthetic Motor Oil

Changed his Transmission Oil to: Schaeffer #742 Synthetic Lube 50 

Changed his Axle Oil to :       Schaeffer #740 Synthetic Gear Lube
 

The goal of the test: Increase fuel mileage between 5% and 15%

January, February and March

 Kartez ran is truck as usual.  Kartez kept records of his miles, fuel purchases and costs.

 April

MPG increased to 7.8

We installed Schaffer Oil in the Engine, Transmission and rear axles.  Kartez continued to use his current fuel additive.

 May

MPG increased to 8.0

We changed from Kartez current fuel additive to Schaffer Diesel Treat fuel additive.

June

MPG increased to 8.2

We changed the PFT24 filter topped off  with Schaffer 7000
